Water resistant balances are made of stainless steel  and come with both dust and vapour emission protection, so they can be used under the severest conditions. Stainless steel edges of our water resistant balances are rounded and the surfaces are flat. The weighing cell has been encapsulated for a higher protection, so our water resistant balances are also called "Heavy Duty balances" due to their extreme hardness. An additional advance is the great backlight display and the +/- weighing indicator which shows in an optical way the exact moment when the target weight is obtained (red, yellow and green). Besides, water resistant balances have a rising light strip as a capacity indicator. In order to meet M III standard, water resistant balances can be verified (only SST series). In order to meet DIN ISO 9000 (quality assurance) a laboratory calibration  (including the calibration documentation) or a verification can be performed. This can be carried out by PCE Instruments Company. All our water resistant balances are ENAC certified. If you wish to obtain ENAC certificate, contact your local authorised laboratory. In order to meet CE standard, all water resistant balances must be verified when they are used for one of the following purposes (as we have mentioned above, verification can be carried out by the local authorised verification centre or by PCE Instruments company): in trade relationships, when the price of the product is determined by its weight, for making medicines and formulations in pharmacy as well as detailed analysis in medical or pharmaceutical laboratories, for official activities such as determining rates or sanctions, and finally, for the production of packages.
If you need additional information about verification of water resistant balances, or if you are not sure whether you need the balances to be verified, you can contact your local authorised Verification Centre. Verification of water resistant balances (only for those that can be verified) can be done when balances are ordered or they can be sent for a periodical verification. Once an official verification has been done, water resistant balances cannot be recalibrated using an external calibration weight. The first verification is valid for two years, but every other verification is valid only for one year and must be done annually by the authorised verification.
