Moisture
Balances |
Our moisture balances of the PCE-series are especially used in industry and trade. First the moisture balances
determine the rest of the dry matter after the measurement of the whole substance which is dried with radiator out of quartz glass.
Then the moisture balances determine the exact moisture of the wet mass which was weighed. While the process of
drying the decreasing moisture is shown on the display. You can see that the PCE-MB moisture balances are ideal
gauges to determine the moisture, the dry matter, respectively of the consistency of volatile and solid substances.
Especially in the industry moisture balances are in the production and the incoming goods control for a fast analyze of
pastes, glues, mechanical pulp, powders etc. The upmarket system of our moisture balances for determining of
moisture has at command all modern characteristics. Next to determining moisture our moisture balances are useable
for exact scales. We also provide you a few portable measuring instruments to determine the absolute humidity.

The area of deployment of the moisture balances are infinitely. It does not matter if you measure pastes, glues, mechanical pulp or powders you
always get the result fast and exactly. In the following you can see a few pictures of different things you can measure.

plastic granule |
ceramics granule |
wood chips |

Next to the moisture balances you can buy a few supplies. With software and a data cable you can assign the
measuring data to a computer or printer. You can also buy extern test weights to recalibrate the moisture balances
locally. Another possibility is the calibration and certification in ISO 9000 in labor. (Optional/ for example at the initial
order or the annual recalibration)

The measuring principle of the moisture balances (as
scales): thermo gravimetric – This method been based on the determination of weight loss in a drying process. The probe is measured before and after the drying. The difference of
the mass is imposed into proportions to the mass before or after the drying.
The moisture content in
materials: In the thermo gravimetric measure method all components of the sample which could
change their aggregate state (for example while vaporizing at the heating) are involved into the measuring and the
components which are involved in the loss of the mass. The measure for the moisture content is not compared to the
whole water content in the material. All volatile substances are included like alcohols, flavorings,
diluents etc. which are
developed in thermal decomposition. That is why you do not differentiate between water and volatile substances. There
are other measure contents which are non-destructive, but we do not want them to explain further.
Because of the halogen emissions the user can work expeditiously in contrast to the older conventional compartment
drier which has a longer dry time. You can see that our moisture balances whereby you save time and money replace
the classical compartment drier.
