Motorcar
Scales
Motorcar scales are scales built for detecting the weight of cars. The motorcar
scales facilitate assuring the safety in traffic by preventing overload or
onesided loading. For this type of control weighing we have smaller motorcar
scales in our assortment. One of these motorcar scales series is the PCE-CWC
series. These motorcar scales stand out due to a compact design with 26 x 7 x
2.5 cm and with a weight of 1 kg over a measurement range of up to 1,500 kg per
wheel. The scaling by means of the motorcar scales can be performed in two ways.
Once by driving the car on walking pace over the motorcar scale and calculating
afterwards the motorcar scale calculates the total weight of the motorcar. Or
the weight determination is performed by driving with the car onto the motorcar
scale, where it parks. But for this option at least two weight platforms are
required. Both weight platforms of the motorcar scales are then connected with
each other and the axle load or rather the total weight can then be determined.
If the motorcar scales are applied in custody transfer, they need to be
calibrated and the weight determination must be performed in only one step. This
means that the motorcar scales must weigh the whole motorcar at once. Don't hesitate to call us if you wish to enquire about our
motorcar scales. Depending
on their application, the motorcar scales need to be calibrated and
standardized. At the time of their delivery the motorcar scales are adjusted. If
you wish to purchase a certificate for the adjustment, it needs to be ordered separately.
The calibration certificate of these motorcar scales are excluded from our
return policy. For a calibration the motorcar scales are sent to independent
calibration laboratories that are certificated according to DIN 17025. Due to
this dissemination, the delivery will take about 4 to 5 days additionally. But
if the motorcar scales are needed in a standardized state, first they need to be
calibratable, and second they must be standardized by an appointed institution.
A standardization means determining and confirming the accuracy of of the
motorcar scale. The initial calibration of the motorcar scale must be
performed by the producer at the time of the initial shipment, otherwise a
subsequent calibration of the motorcar scales can not be performed.
