More information on our conductivity regulators

Conductivity Regulators
Conductivity regulators are mostly stationary devices that are working together with dosing devices. In front of the conductivity regulators there is usually a measurement electrode which is able to transfer the measured signals to the conductivity regulators immediately. The conductivity regulators change that signal into a standardized signal which can be transferred to the dosing device directly. That dosing device performs the task of indicating and regulating the conductivity. In addition to that conductivity regulators often offer the possibility of indicating the values due to the fact that they possess digital readouts. Conductivity regulators are often regulator of threshold values, which means that they react when certain thresholds are exceeded or if a certain value is fallen below. This would mean that correct doses are not correct. But there is also the chance of installing conductivity regulators which support impulse regulations. The conductivity regulators that are available these days are microprocessor-controlled which means that they can individually be adjusted to the measurement procedure. Because of that, conductivity regulators are used in the field of the drinking water purification or during the process of filling bottles. Our conductivity regulators are equipped with robust cases which allow operation under difficult environmental conditions. If you can't find the conductivity regulators you are looking for, please contact us and we will help you find the best solution to suit your needs by calling our offices on: UK customers +44(0) 23 809 870 30 / US customers (561) 320-9162 and our technical staff will advise you regarding our measuring instruments. Our engineers and technicians will be happy to help you with the conductivity regulators, and of course, with the other products in the field of regulation and control, and scales and balances.

The measurement of conductivity is besides the pH-value measurement the commonly used electrochemical method in the business process. The basic process of the conductivity measurement is based on the estimation of the amount of salt in fluids. The more salt there is in water, the higher the conductivity of the water. Conductivity regulators react on all different salts and that is why precise statements about the water quality can be made by measuring the amount of salt within the water. The measured concentration in water ranges from 0 mg/l (ultrapure water) to 250 g/l (common salt solution). Conductivity measurement can be found in many different industrial fields. This is because of the fact that the different fields demand different concentrations of salt. Examples where the conductivity measurement can be made are sewage purification plants, demineralization systems and also the pharmacy. But not only the measurement of such concentrations is important but also the regulation of these concentrations. This action is performed by conductivity regulators. Conductivity regulators receive signals from measurement electrodes which are then transformed into standardized signals. popular standardized signals of the conductivity regulators are for example signals of the current (0 ... 20 mA / 4 ... 20 mA) or voltage signals (0 ... 10 V). Such standardized signals offer the advantage that they can be sent over far distances. Especially the 4 ... 20 mA-signal brings the possibility that mistakes can be indicated visually. That is the case if the dosing unit gives out current beneath 4 mA. If the standardized signal of the conductivity regulators is adopted, the dosing unit is able to react by reducing the the salt in the fluid or add salt. This is important when it comes to bottling plants. After the filling process the plant is cleared by aggressive detergents that have to be removed afterwards. For this highly precise conductivity regulators are essential. As you can imagine there are certain guidance levels in pharmacy that have to be met, in order to ensure that there is no danger at all. The conductivity regulators may not exceed the following boundary values:
