pH Electrodes You will find information about the pH electrodes in the following table: |

The pH electrodes allow measurement of pH with electric meters. Certainly there are indicators or test strips to easily determine the pH, but these are very vague and not at all comfortable in practice. To determine the pH value of pH electrodes, they should be in direct contact with the medium being measured. In the glass membrane pH electrodes generate a voltage that indicates the current pH value. This measurement is much more accurate and quick. However, it is necessary to take several things into consideration when measuring pH electrodes. The pH meters need to be recalibrated periodically by buffers and a defined pH value. This is because pH electrodes deteriorate and therefore the voltage curve is subject to change. The deterioration of pH electrodes also means that at some point they stop working. The life of pH electrodes depends on several factors. Very dirty solutions and high temperatures require a shorter calibration interval and shorten the life of pH electrodes. To extend the duration is often advisable to clean the pH electrodes. If the pH electrodes are not used, there is a danger that they become unusable. The pH electrodes must be stored in a completely dry atmosphere or have them placed in the preservation solution. Never leave the pH electrode in distilled water. |
