Temperature controllers |

Temperature controllers are an important section of control systems. Temperature controllers can detect current values in a medium and change the temperature until the reference value is reached. The most common and easy version of temperature controllers is the thermostat which maintains the reference value of temperature as a constant value. There are temperature controllers with different sensors used to maintain a constant temperature level. For example, a thermo-element can be connected to a simple regulator for a continuous measurement of the temperature of a liquid. Temperature controllers process a measured signal (the reference value) and regulate for instance the water temperature in a heating unit when it is on/off. While dealing with temperature, other quantities are also considered. For example, environmental temperature affects temperature controllers which should compensate this disturbing quantity and offset it if necessary. However, in this case 2-point temperature controllers must be replaced by 3-point temperature controllers . 3-point temperature controllers can perform many different operations, as for instance they can check 2 temperature points and at the same time influence on the process by heating or cooling the medium. To ensure an accurate temperature regulation, continuous controllers can be used. Continuous temperature controllers are continuously checking temperature. Therefore, continuous temperature controllers are more accurate than other regulator types. |
