Temperature indicators Temperature indicators are installation instruments which can process signals from temperature sensors and show them on the display. Temperature indicators enable easy and economic valuation of resistance sensors, such as Pt100 or different thermo element types. These sensors can be directly connected to temperature indicators to avoid the installation of a transducer. Some temperature indicators can only be used with certain sensors, for instance, the PCE-.N20T temperature indicators can only be connected to Pt100 sensors. Such temperature indicators are the ideal instruments due to its affordable price. Universal temperature indicators are very flexible devices because they can be used with many different temperature sensors and can also process normalized signals. Many temperature indicators have a relay output to set diverse alarms when a limit value is exceeded. Below, you will find diverse temperature indicators for different applications. Temperature is one of the most common physical quantities. Temperature indicators are used for many different applications apart from the measurement of temperature in buildings and outside areas. Temperature indicators are specially important within industry to determine temperature accurately. Since modern temperature indicators are based on digital electronics, it is necessary to transform temperature into an electric signal by means of temperature sensors. Due to the fact that there are different physical measuring principles depending on the sensor, diverse temperature indicators will be required. Pt100 resistance sensors can get changed with temperature and resistance. Temperature indicators should determine the current resistance. For doing this temperature indicators allow a constant current to flow. By means of the voltage drop, the sensor can calculate resistance. Thermo-elements are also used to measure temperature by converting the temperature difference into a continuous voltage creating a voltage which is shown as temperature.
