Water Resistant Scales (Stainless steel scales)
Water resistant scales are made out of stainless steel and come with both dust and vapour emission protection, so they can be used under the harshest conditions. Stainless steel edges of water resistant scales are rounded and the surface is flat. The weighing cell is encapsulated for a higher protection that is why these water resistant scales are also called "Heavy Duty scales". Another advantage is the great backlight display and the  +/- weighing indicator which shows in an optical way the exact moment when the target weight is obtained (red, yellow and green). Moreover, water resistant scales have a rising light strip as capacity indicator. In order to meet  M III standard water resistant scales can be verified (only SST series). In order to meet DIN ISO 9000 (quality assurance) a laboratory calibration (including the calibration documentation) or a verification can be performed. This can be carried out by PCE-Instruments Company. All our water resistant scales are ENAC certified. If you wish to obtain ENAC certificate, contact your local authorised laboratory. Verification: In order to meet CE standard, all water resistant scales must be verified when they are used for one of the following purposes:

a) In trade relationships, when the price of the product is determined by its weight.

b) To make medicines and formulations in pharmacy as well as detailed analysis in medical or pharmaceutical laboratories. 

c) For Official activities such as determining rates or sanctions.

d) For the production of packages.
If you require additional information about verification of water resistant scales, or if you are not sure whether you need  verified scales, you can contact your local authorised Verification Centre. Verification of water resistant scales (only for those that can be verified) can be done when scales are ordered or they can be sent for a periodical verification. Once an official verification is done, water resistant scales cannot be recalibrated using an external calibration weight. The first verification is valid for two years, but every other verification is valid for one year and must be done annually by the authorised verification.
