The pressure meter PCE-APM 30 is the ideal tool to measure absolute and barometric pressure. Pressure meters foten have a single conection and they always measure in relation to the absolute vacuum. The pressure meter PCE-APM 30 however shows the atmospheric pressure (atmospheric colum pressure) when there is no additional pressure added. Measuring values depend on weather conditions. Atmospheric pressure, also called barometric pressure, indicates the weight of air due to the earth's force of gravity. Atmospheric pressure at sea level is 1013.25 mbars in an isothermal atmosphere. Before being shipped, the factory calibrates the pressure meter PCEAPM 30 to a barometric pressure of 1013 bars and an altitude of zero (sea level). The user must take into account changes in altitude at the time of measuring absolute pressure. At an altitude of 8m, the result is a difference of approximately 1 mbar. The display of the pressure meter PCE-APM 30 will show the actual value, dependant on the meteorologic situation and the altitude of atmospheric pressure. Often, the actual value is required as a correcting factor in exact measurements of physical parameters. Here you will find a pressure meter to measure the air pressure difference.
