Handheld Tachometers

Handheld tachometers will be used for maintenance and calibration of machines that have moving parts. The principle is similar to a bicycle speedometer, where time will be measured that is needed until a wheel once completely turned. Thereby handheld tachometers have two different procedures. Some handheld tachometers have a contact connection to the moving parts. Other handheld tachometers work with reflecting marks. This will be secured on the moving part. As the laser strikes the reflecting mark during rotation, it will be reflected and detected in the handheld tachometers via a sensor. Rotation speed and speed can be seen on the handheld tachometers. Some handheld tachometers combine both possibilities (contact and non-contact connection). The PCE-151 handheld tachometers with RS-232 interface  can measure revolutions and velocity and store the readings onto a computer using software which comes provided with the device. Digital handheld tachometers are ideal for measuring velocity and revolutions in research and maintenance. The PCE-T236 handheld tachometers measures velocity both by contact and non contact and has a good relation between price and quality. Non-contact measurement of velocity is done with the help of reflective tape. For handheld tachometers that can be installed for measurements over a period of time, we recommend the PAX I. These handheld tachometers have a digital display with digital and analogue outputs, different memory cards which are optional, and a combination of an optical sensor, a laser sensor or a mechanical measuring wheel.
