Echo thickness gauge Multigauge 4000 Series Echo thickness gauge with multiple echo / ROV applications / for extreme conditions under water / used up to 4000 m under water / IPR and AMVs
|
The
Multigauge 4000 series is an echo thickness gauge which is available in two versions and is designed for all ROV applications.
The first version is the echo thickness gauge Multigauge 4100, which can be applied to depths of 1,000 m. The echo thickness gauge Multigauge 4400 however finds its tasks in up to 4000 m depth. Each underwater ultrasonic thickness gauge
has been specially designed for harsh environmental conditions and can therefore
be used in every branch of industry. Continue to operate the underwater ultrasonic thickness measurement of Gert multiple echo technology, can take place so that thickness measurements without any previous layers have to be removed. Additionally, there is an RS232 interface which makes data transfer easy. Other technologies are IPR (Intelligent Probe Recognition) and
AMVs. IPR is on one device automatically increased performance and AMVs guarantees that only meaningful measurement results are displayed, even on badly corroded metals.

More
information on the threefold echo-technology
|
Depending
on the material to
be measured, each underwater ultrasonic thickness gauge should be calibrated
at different sound velocities. Paints have different sound speeds as metals,
it is necessary to ensure that these do not affect the measurements. The
3-echo technology guarantees that all coatings have no effect on the
measurement.
|
|
This
is how the measurement of the echo thickness
gauge works |
A
transmitted ultrasonic
pulse is sent
through paint and
metal and
is
reflected by the rear
wall.
The returning echo
reverberates in the metal
and only a small part of the echo returns through the coating. The
time between the small
echoes gives us the time
of the echo within the metal,
this time
is in direct connection
to the material
thickness. The
underwater ultrasonic
thickness gauge interprets
the recurring
echoes automatically
and calculates the thickness of the material. A
minimum of three echoes
is checked each
time.
This
is called Automatic
Measurement Verification
System (AMVs).

dank Ultraschallmessverfahren kontaktlos
statt.
