Gas Analyser for Food CheckPoint II Gas analyser with memory and base station for sample checkings of food or pharmaceutical products packaged in protective atmospheres
The Gas analyser for the quality control of modified atmospheres CheckPoint II is used for sample checkings of packaged and sealed food in protective atmospheres. The memory of the Gas analyser for the quality control of modified atmospheres CheckPoint II records the measured values. Therefore, manual recordings are not required. The memory can store up to 25 products with 99 measurements - including date, time and the assistant's name. The optional bar-code reader reduces the work so the product is entered only by pressing a key. Both the data transference and the recharging of the accumulator are performed via the base station included in the delivery. The high level sensors of the gas analyser for the quality control of modified atmospheres CheckPoint II (carbon dioxide sensor [CO2] and electro-chemical and oxygen sensors [O2]) only require a gas volume of approx. 6 ml during a measurement time of 6 seconds. The large backlight display shows the measured value, the measured product and the current status of the CheckPoint II. The gas analyser for the quality control of modified atmospheres CheckPoint II can also be used for other fields such as: logistics, the pharmaceutical industry and the beverage industry. Technical information about the gas analyser for the quality control of modified atmospheres CheckPoint II can be found at the following link.

Modified or protected atmosphere: Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) is a technique used in order to prolong the minimum durability of fresh or minimally processed foods. In this preservation technique the air surrounding the food in the package is changed to another composition. In most cases, oxygen (O2) is reduced from 20.9 % to 0.2 % and replaced by a higher carbon dioxide concentration (CO2) as well as nitrogen. Because of the high reduction of oxygen, the microbial growth (which is responsible for food spoilage) slows down. By using this method to extend the expiry date, chemical byproducts are avoided.

Examples of use of the Gas analyser for modified atmospheres CheckPoint II
Delivery content: 1 x Gas analyser for quality control of modified atmospheres CheckPoint II O2, 10 x hypodermic needles, 3 x water separators (filter), 100 x septas (shelf-adhesive), 1 x multilingual user manual, 1 x mains component, 1 x USB data cable, 1 x carrying case.
Optional accessories
Smartpen: The smartpen is a pen-shaped device which can be placed at the side of the gas analyser for the quality control of modified atmospheres CheckPoint II. Due to the fact that the needle protector is charged by means of a spring, it is released if a button is pressed to avoid damages to the needle itself and to the person who changes the needle.
- Factory calibration certificate The Gas analyser of modified atmospheres CheckPoint II is delivered with a factory calibration. As the sensor can get worn out over the time leading to an error in accuracy, it is necessary to recalibrate the device every 12 months.
