The PCE-IT413 insulation meter and the PCE-IT414 insulation meter belong to a series of highly accurate resistance devices that have a 6 digit display. These insulation meters are developed specifically for technical service and for difficult measurement conditions. One of the advantages is a built in protection to avoid errors originating from loss of current. The insulation meter contains a microprocessor and both optical and visual alarms. Instructions for measuring across an insulation meter:
- disconnect the power - connect N and PE cables between two points - disconnect the fuse from the device being measured, then connect LS and FI cables and then reconnect the power
- connect measurement cables, phase conductor and PE, and phase conductor and N, then connect the insulation meter and take the measurement. It seems sensible to us to take a measurement between the conductor phase to easily detect damage or aging of the lines. The minimum values of resistance of an insulation meter for measurement of voltage should be 250 V DC 0.25 MΩ, at 500 V DC 0.5 MΩ and at 1000 V DC 1 MΩ.
