DLS-C / CH 30 & DLS-C / CH 15 Laser Distance Measuring Meter Industrial
laser distance measuring meter for fixed mounting with SPS
|
The DLS Laser Distance Measuring Meter is used to measure distances accurately in the industry sector. This Laser Distance Measuring Meter can, for example, measure the contents of containers, the position of objects on conveyors or the thickness of rolls and cylinders, as well as store and evaluate data on a PC. You can connect the Laser Distance Measuring Meter to SPS for handling and reading. The potential uses of the Laser Distance Measuring Meter are manifold. The laser distance measuring meter is very easy to install with the help of the M4 and it is fed through the network (9 - 30 VDC for DLS-C and 24 ... 30 VDC for DLS-CH). The standard version of this Laser Distance Measuring Meter should always be used in connection with a PC. The measurement is activated from a PC or monitor. The measurement values are emitted either analogously or digitally. For connecting the Laser Distance Measuring Meter to a PLC, it is not necessary to use a PC. It should be noted that the SPS has RS-232 or RS-422 to serve as a connection to the Laser Distance Measuring Meter.

The DLS Laser Distance Measuring Meter can be operated with a standard PC or connected to a PLC with RS-422 (management and reading of the distance measurement results)

Influence of the objects to measure/other influences
|
- All opaque objects can be measured. You will not get test results with clear objects
- Smooth objects with a good reflection will give better and faster results than rough ones. Rough surfaces have a negative influence on the measurement time (0.3 - 4 s)
- If there is a high concentration of dust between the EDM and the target, measuring e.g. cement silos, this will have a negative influence on the measurement
- Moving targets can be measured

Harmful effects of laser light
|
The Laser Distance Measuring Meter series DLS is a part of the laser class II. The gauges of laser class II have a visible laser with low yield (<1 mW) so there is a probability to damage a person's eyes. If you look directly into the laser beam for a long period of time (> 15 min), it can result in eye damage. Never look at the laser with a magnifying glass. It should be noted that normally when a laser beam hits the eyes, they tend to close as a reflex. This reflex normally protects the eyes from being damaged with laser class II.

Connection
|
RS-232 and RS-422 to bind to an SPS
|
With the RS-232, a DLS-C sensor can be connected directly to a PC. For connection to the DLS-C sensor, a plug is used resulting in a close union (IP65). The connection to the PC is done with a D-Sub plug of 9-poles. A two-wire cable makes it easy to connect a power supply for the sensor.
|
This cable makes it possible to easily connect DLS-C sensor to RS-422 interface. This cable provides connection (IP65) with the DLS-C sensor.
|
Delivery content: 1 x DLS-C30 industrial Laser Distance Measuring Meter or DLS-C15 with software, please ask for the RS-232 or RS-422
|
Optional
- Data cable RS-232 or RS-422 (the interface cable quickly defines the digital output type of the Laser Distance Measuring Meter)/RS-232 or RS-422)
- Testing target
- Glasses
- Protection IP 65 connector, enables waterproof connection to a data cable
