Cup vane anemometer PCE-A420 digital cup vane anemometer, wind direction will not influence the measurement
|
Without a doubt, the main advantage of this handheld cup vane anemometer is that it doesn't need to be held exactly in the direction of the wind. Anemometer with impellers typically have to be held exactly in the direction of the air flow to take accurate measurements. However, this cup vane anemometer's system is so sensitive that it responds to the smallest of air currents. At this link you can find other anemometer with memory and an interface for connectivity to a computer and software to allow for data transfer. This link has similar anemometers but with a measurement range of up to 45m/s.

To perform a correct measurement with the PCE-A420 cup vane anemometer: First turn the meter on, then hold the meter vertically so the cups can rotate until the wind velocity is displayed. In the following picture you can see how to measure wind speed with the PCE-A420 cup vane anemometer. As previously stated, different measurement units can be selected with the PCE-A420 cup vane anemometer: m/s, km/h, knots, ft/min and mph. To change measurement units in the PCE-A420 cup vane anemometer, you must press the key Data Hold until the desired unit is displayed, then depress the key. You can save the unit in the memory of the PCE-A420 cup vane anemometer to be displayed every time the meter is turned on. If the messages Hold or REC appears in the display, you cannot change the measurement units. Moreover, you could fix a value in the PCE-A420 cup vane anemometer by pressing the Hold key during the measurement. To deactivate this function please press the Hold key again.

Optional accessories - ISO calibration certificate for the PCE-A420 cup vane anemometer.

ISO calibration and certification An ISO calibration certificate can be acquired for this anemometer. A certificate of control with the details of your company is issued in a laboratory certification and calibration for the ohmmeter, so you can register the devices in their intra-corporate consortia ISO control instruments. This document also certifies that such devices may be adjusted again according to national standards. Below, you will find more information on calibration: Calibration: control of the accuracy in the measurement magnitudes of the anemometer without the intervention of the measurement system. Calibration also refers to the determination of the systematic deviation of the anemometer display in relation to the real value of the measured magnitude. Calibration document or certificate: document with the technical properties of the anemometer according to the national organization of measurement. Calibration interval: to perform correct measurements, the anemometer must be calibrated at regular intervals. This period of time is called calibration interval. It's difficult to determine this period with accuracy but you should consider the following factors:
- Performance of the measuring instruments - Frequency of use - Operating conditions - Previous calibration stability - Measuring accuracy required - Determining factors of the quality control systems used by companies
This means that the user is responsible for checking and controlling the interval between calibrations. We recommend that this calibration interval should be somewhere between 1 and 3 years. We also offer the user our expert advice to solve any
questions related to the process of establishing calibration intervals or any other technical questions. Take into consideration: The accuracy of the calibration depends on the anemometer and the sensor combined. In the case of the anemometer PCE-A420, this means that the calibration should be done for up to four temperature sensors.
