Applications of Stroboscopes |
The stroboscopes are used mainly to determine the speed number or just to optically stop a process in motion and thus be able to draw conclusions about the production process. Below you can see an example of the correct use of the stroboscopes to get correct readings or to create an optimal still photo, as well as an example to determine the causes behind a double speed (instead of 110 / min it is 220 / min). The correct course of action is generally useful, but here it is merely an example of a belt transmission and drive a wave. Do not hesitate to consult us on technical matters or the proper use of the stroboscopes. Our technical team will happily advise you (also on other products of PCE).

In the assessment of a belt drive, the optical detection is achieved simply (there is always a prominent area to which you can adjust the stroboscopes).
In the observation of several V-belts running on a wave of control , in the case of repairs or maintenance of the machine, you should mark a reference line with chalk vertically in respect to the direction of operation over all belts.
When the installation is running again, you can easily recognize if the straps are synchronized (see image on the right).

In a wave, properly centered with a impeller, it will always measure the actual number of revolutions with the optical stop (Fig. 1). If the impeller has an axial that is not centered, with the stroboscopes you will measure twice the speed.
