The automatic Krebs-Viscometer PCE-RVI 5 is able to perform measurements by itself. The automatic Krebs-Viscometer offers the opportunity to measure Krebs (KU), gram (g) and centipoise (CP). The automatic viscometer is mostly used when testing lacquers, coatings, adhesives and pastes. During that it keeps a continuous rotation speed of 200 revolutions per minute (rpm). 

The automatic Krebs-Viscometer possesses two different measurement modes. The user can choose between the automatic and the manual measurement mode. When the automatic measurement mode has been chosen the automatic Krebs-Viscometer dips itself into the fluid . After a short (adjustable) lead time the measurement starts automatic. To do so the user has to preset the measurement time. In order to gather usable results the automatic Krebs-Viscometer needs to run for at least five seconds. This is also the minimum time to choose for automatic measurements. Opposed to that the maximum time is 99 seconds. In the manual mode the user has to insert the spindle into the desired position himself and start / stop the measurement. The automatic Krebs-Viscometer follows the norms: ASTM D 562, ASTM D 1131 and ASTM D 856.

When using the sample container, it is placed on one or both of the blocks on the left. If one block suffices or if two are needed depends on the filling quantity of the sample container.
