The colony counter PCE-CC 1 is a measurement device to capture the bacterial colonies on petri dishes. The device features a bearing surface, which is lighted with LED lights from underneath and a magnifying glass with 8-fold magnification, which allows a more accurate counting of the bacterial cultures. The lights of the colony counter are bright, so that the results should be as accurate as possible. The counting is additionally facilitated by means of the contact pen, since the pen features a sensor, which responds to pressure on its measurement tip and transfers the electrical signal to a measurement cell. This signal is then transformed inside in the measurement cell, which is the actual colony counter, into the relevant number that is then indicated on the 3-digit LED display. The Colony Counter PCE-CC 1 features a 3-digit LED display, which can indicate the number of colonies up to 999. The display is clear and thus ideal for applications in laboratories.

The Contact Pen of the colony counter is very handy and shows an acceptable resistance. By means of the contact pen the colony counting becomes very easy.

The colony counter PCE-CC 1 features four operational elements. There are two switches, which are for the power and the lamp of the display, while there is also an input for the contact pen's cable and a reset-button, which starts the counting at 0 again.
