The leak detector Metpoint LKD is able to detect smallest leakages of compressed-air lines. Leakage rates of up to 3 % are in compressed-air lines no rarity and they can be reduced by means of the leak detector effectively. For detection of the leakages the leak detector Metpoint LKD uses a physical effect. If there leaks gass from a hole, friction of the gas molecules emerges at the pipe wall, due to which ultrasonic waves arise that the leak detector recognizes. That ultrasound is converted by the leak detector into a hearable sound signal. The leak detector especially stands out due to its high reliability in detecting leakages. Since only the ultrasonic signal of the leakage is recorded by the leak detector, it can also operate despite of  loud industrial noise. Due to a noise-reducing headset, included in delivery, furthermore surrounding noises are minimized. The colored OLED display at the leak detector Metpoint LKD provides a quick overview of measured data and by that allows a quick location of leakages. Due to a fixed measuring range of 40 kHz only characteristic ultrasonic sounds of any porosity are recorded and every other interference signals are ignored. The leak detector is also designed for on-field long-term application since it can be easily recharged by means of the car-charger included in delivery.
