A
light cabin is designed to perform direct colour measurements on products that
are about to be produced or that are already in process. Thus colour
measurements in a light cabin are relevant for companies that claim to provide
high and constant quality of their products. Therefore the light cabin supports
irrespective of the edition a maximum of four types of light. The types of light
are previously defined lights, that are afterwards, during tests, simulated by
the lamp inside the light cabin . Thus the light cabin can be used to suppress
metamerisms, before the product goes for example into serial production.
Furthermore the light cabin is an important part of quality assurance. Due to
that the products can be checked on their colour values even during processing,
whether or not they are within the tolerance range. This means that the
application of the light cabin helps excluding metamerism. Metamerism describes
in general the fact that the same colours can have a diverse appearance under
alternating light conditions. The light cabin GTI MM-2e can also be purchased as
the GTI MM-2eUV edition, which is also equipped with UV light as an additional
function. But therefore it should be kept in mind that it is not an obligatory
feature for light cabins, in case there are artificial enlighteners in the
material that are to be detected and made visible. Otherwise the edition with
three light sources is sufficient enough. If there are any questions about this
