PKT-2510 Power Analyzer
Power Analyzer with RS232 interface / universal application /
evaluation software for power analysis of appliances
|
The power analyzer PKT-2510 is designed as a tabletop unit or a portable device to measure effective power, apparent power, efficiency factor, alternating voltage, alternating current, direct current, DC voltage, resistance and frequency. The current- / power measurement can be either performed by means of the test lead, included in delivery, or directly via current probes. The analyzer furthermore provides the possibility of connecting industrial current converters with a converting ratio of 100/5 A or 1000/5 A. The large, clearly-legible LCD display with 93 x 52 mm, indicates several measurement results simultaneously, e.g. Watt, cos φ, ACV, ACA. Due to the optional power adapter PCE-PA-ADP, appliances with schuko plugs (up to 10 ACA) can be easily connected and measured in order to analyze them via the power analyzer. The power analyzer PKT-2510 is equipped with a RS232 data interface, and by means of the analysis software the data can be transferred to a computer, in order to be processed and stored. Thus the power analyzer is the ideal device for an application in workshops or for power analysis and error searches at appliances
on-site. If there are any questions about this power analyzer PKT-2510, please
have a look at the technical specification below or call: UK customers +44(0) 23 809 870 30 / US customers +1-410-387-7703. Our technicians and engineers will gladly advise you in all power
analyzers and all products in the field of measuring
instruments, regulation
and control and scales.

Examples
of application
|
In
the picture at the right the power analyzer PKT-2510 is shown during operation
in areas of computer repairs. Due to the application of the power adapters, the
current consumption and power measurement can be performed without extent
wiring, quickly and safe from contact voltages.

|
Here
you can see the large and informative LCD display of the power analyzer. A
maximum of four indices can be shown simultaneously. The way of indication
changes depending on the function mode. Furthermore the optionally purchasable
Power Adapter shown clearly. Simply plug the adapter to the jack and connect the
appliances via the schuko plug with the power adapter.
|
At
this application the heating power of an electric fan heater is shown after successful
repair is checked by means of the power analyzer PKT-2510. Even here the power
adapter proves itself helpful. Easy montage with highest safety, none blanc
cable ends as mostly common. With the power analyzer all electrical devices up
to 10 A can be directly, very accurately and easily checked, as well as
large-scale consumers (with current probe and current transformer).

Principle of Power analysis

Definitions
and facts worth knowing:
During Power analysis in DC circuits, the power is calculated definitely by the
formula: P=U * I, i.e. the product of the electrical voltage U and
electrical current I. If an instantaneous phase between current and voltage
appears during the measurement of alternating voltages (e.g. circuit voltage 50
Hz), the effective power P must be considered. For a combined measurement of
electrical power therefore a power analyzer provides a current- and a voltage-
path. The indicator P (real power) equals as mentioned above the product of both
factors.
In practice there are three types of power to distinguish:
- Apparent power S measured in VA
- Real power (and equal power) P measured in W (watt)
- Reactive power Q measured in VAR (volt-ampere-reactive)
