The digital Radon monitor measures the radon concentration within buildings. The canary pro radon monitor supports transferring all the collected data via wireless interface to a computer. The data can be then evaluated and analyzed by means of an accordant software. The canary pro radon monitor is a digital version of a detector recollecting smallest traces. The detection is supported due to the diffusion of the gasiform radon into a sample container. Inside this container the radon collapses and radiates onto a silicium photo diode. During the clash of the particles onto the diode, a low electricity signal is generated, which is reinforced by the measuring device. Thus the generated amplitude is then shown as a measuring value. The calculation of the mean value throughout the day is then generated by the number of the isotopes radon 222, polonium 218 and polonium 214. The calculation of the mean value for long-term measurements does then function only via the number of isotopes of radon 222. The battery automatically calibrated periodically, and the collected data is then stored with a 2 hours resolution. In order to maintain a reliable measurement at all times the device was calibrated with a reference instrument. These reference devices are calibrated in special laboratories. The lifetime of the battery is usually three years. For the operation of the radon monitor there is no special knowledge about the measurement method required. After the installation of the radon monitor in the relevant building, the device operates fully automated. According to authorities and experts it is advised to place the device with the its display pointing upwards.
