The drying scale is a precision device for the determination of moisture content in small samples of materials by means of drying the sample with halogen heaters. The drying scale can be used as a drying measurement device as well as for determination of drying content. Also it can work as a standard mg-scale. The drying scale uses heaters (2 x 200 Watts) to dry the sample while the precision scale indicates the changes in weight as the sample dries out. In general this scale can be used in research, development and quality control. The materials to be tested are: food, sugar, salt, granulates, plastics, pellets, fibers, etc, as well as liquids, sludge and mixtures of all kinds. So the drying scale is a multipurpose tool. The software built into the system provides many different drying programmes and calculates various parameters for humidity and dry mass. A typical drying procedure involves choosing a drying temperature, a time interval - for example 100 degrees for 10 minutes and a mode - % solids. Automatic external calibration using either 100 g or 200 g calibration weight (depending on the model) guarantees ongoing accurate results. The integrated RS - 232 - interface enables you (with optional software-kit) to automatically send the drying data to PC. This link shows an overview of the scales and balances which will meet your requirements.

In the quality control of goods, the moisture content determines the water excess in the material, so the customer wouldn't pay for water. After the storage and the subsequent handling of granulates, moisture can be accurately determined to ensure a good processability to the production and processing of granulates.

ISO calibration and certification An ISO calibration certificate can be acquired for this drying scale. It includes a control document containing the company's details and a certification to meet ISO standards. This means that the drying scale meets the minimum measuring requirements of the national organization and it can be included in your internal set of measuring instruments. Further information is: Calibration: Control of measurement magnitudes correction for the drying scale without the intervention in the measurement system, or the determination of the systematic display deviation in relation to the real value of the measuring magnitude. Calibration document or certificate: document with the technical specifications of the device according to the national organization of measurement. Calibration interval: in order to perform correct measurements, devices must be calibrated at regular intervals. This period of time is called calibration interval. It's difficult to determine this period with accuracy but you should consider the following factors:
Performance of the measuring instruments
Frequency of use
Operating conditions
Previous calibration stability
Required measuring accuracy
Determining factors of the quality control systems used by companies
This means that the user is in charge to check and control the interval between calibrations. We recommend that this internal between calibrations should be between 1 and 3 years. Our experts can help you with any questions relating to the process of establishing a calibration interval. Take into consideration: When a drying scale is calibrated, this should be done while the temperature sensor, used with the device, is attached or with the sensor that comes with the thermometer attached. The accuracy of the calibration depends on the device and the sensor. In case of PCE-T395 thermometer the calibration should be done for up to four temperature sensors.
